Solo Chic
Choosing to travel alone is a big decision, especially as a female. I decided at 39 to start my solo female journey through America. I had just sold my house, my son was graduated from high school and moving in with his childhood best friend, my divorce was final and my mother had just passed away. My life had been filled with trauma, drama and turmoil for two years, and it was time for a serious change of pace. I got rid of almost everything I owned and started planning the trip of a lifetime.

Aren't you Scared?
This is a question I have gotten a few times during my travels. The answer is no, I am not scared. I love traveling by myself. If you do your research on the area you are visiting, read the reviews of the places you are staying, google things to do in the area, then you are halfway prepared. I like to familiarize myself with the area before I am there physically. Google maps, 3d versions of the streets, this way it already looks somewhat familiar when I arrive. Knowing your environment is key to your safety. Trust your instincts and be aware of your surroundings.
